Seventh Grade Computing Class
During seventh grade computer class students will learn about computing basics, including hardware, software, and how to effectively use computers at school and at home.
We also build on keyboarding skills learned in 6th grade. Because students should already know the correct reaches, we will focus on building speed and learning the numbers and number pad. We use MS Excel to record our keyboarding progress.
Wikis are used to practice online collaboration. Using Internet search skills, students will pick a country to research. With a partner in another class, they will research, organize, and present information about their country. Incorported in this unit is PowerPoint, Internet research, Google Earth, and advanced Word skills.
We will also discuss and learn about digital citizenship.
